Film Tip 'Creating Suspense and Tension'

'Suspense doesn't come from speeding things up; it comes from slowing things down'.

I know it may seem like simple hypothesis, to create suspense you slow the action down but when filming my Spain video; the moment when Toby sees Sarah in the car I intended the ending to be pacey and fast, I'm guessing this is why I felt the ending was flat; there was no tension or real dread.
The film has been helped by Mark's great musical score but I think this hypothesis is worth remembering for future projects.
